Unlocking Duviri Steel Path (Post Hotfix)

Hello!

If you’ve spent a lot of time in Duviri on the Steel Path, you may be having some issues accessing these nodes after our recent Hotfixes. This is due to a fix for players not earning Duviri Steel Path Trophies that caused more widespread issues than we anticipated.

In short, after Hotfix 33.5.6, you will have to go through additional steps to re-access Steel Path Duviri due to this bug fix. To help clear up any confusion, here is what needs to be done:

  • Complete the Duviri Paradox Quest (if you haven’t already).

  • Complete a minimum of one Stage of the Normal Path Circuit and extract.

  • Defeat the Orowyrm in Normal Path Lone Story and extract.

Once you have completed those three nodes, Steel Path Duviri should be open to you, like with all other Regions.

If you’re curious about what steps led us here, we offer this play-by-play:

Spoiler

What happened:

  • We got reports of players unable to earn their Steel Path completion trophy from the Duviri region.

  • The first issue we discovered is that the Duviri mission selection was allowing everybody to play the Steel Path difficulties even if they hadn’t done the normal difficulty first. If you’re a veteran player, you know you shouldn’t be able to play Steel Path first. This was blocking people from being able to complete the Steel Path trophy in Duviri.

  • Our fix for the mission selection revealed a second issue, which is that Duviri mission nodes were not completing for most people on a successful play-through. So even though people had played and completed these missions, it never internally counted those missions as completed.

  • We fixed both issues: Firstly, players who finish the Quest now unlock the Duviri Experience node, which means playing The Circuit and The Lone Story now properly gives you credit for completion. Secondly, the UI will prevent players from doing the missions out of order which was blocking the Steel Path Trophy from ever completing.

  • The combined fix requires players to replay The Circuit and The Lone Story Duviri nodes on normal difficulty to correctly log a Mission Complete for each of them and enable the Steel Path.

“But I already played these missions a long time ago.”

  • Unfortunately, your successful missions were not registered as complete for your account. We fixed the bug that stopped the completion from saving to your account, but you still need to play them one last time, and it’ll stick.

“But the message in the game said....”

  • We are aware that the in-game prompt says, “You need to complete The Circuit on normal difficulty,” and fails to mention The Lone Story. We’re ensuring that this messaging will be corrected in a future update. Apologies for the confusion there!

We hope this thread clarifies the steps needed to unlock Duviri Steel Path for those asking, and as always, thank you for understanding.

All well, thank you for communicating ❤

It would have been nice to have this information 3 days ago before people lost out on their Incarnon Adapters... especially considering this wasn't even a bug that needed to be addressed in a hotfix.  If it was addressed in a forum post then it could have been put in the news section or in red text as a periodic alert, not a forum post days after the fact.

Everybody, as in fresh accounts too?

So far all new nodes that were releassed after I gained access to the steel path, were not only avaiable for me to play on Steel Path difficulty right away, but completing them also marked them as complete in the "normal path" is this unintended?

From what I can tell, once you unlock Steel Path and Arbitrations, you're never supposed to lose access to them again.

Really should have been an announcement with the hotfix, or you should be giving out incarnation adapters to the individuals unable to finish circuit this week due to you breaking it right before the weekend and leaving us with no information as usual. I really wish this wasn't such a common thing for you guys. If your going to slap your playbase in the face with hotfixes that constantly break stuff, DONT COMMUNICATE IT, and make them miss out on limited time content, you should be compensating, no questions asked.

My SO and I have run his lone experience, and the circuit non SP and he still can't do steel path duviri. Would love to know if this is being looked at.

Maybe its time to overhaul parts of Steel Path:

It has grown from its original vision of being a more difficult gamemode. It now has way too many additional nodes that are timegated required for Steel Path. Offers completely different rewards in Duviri. And now even alternative gamemodes, fissures, are influenced by steel path. And even alternative modes of play in the Orowyrm.

And to me the worst of all is the toggle, it still is a toggle at the edge of the screen, meaning that unless you see that you are facing 121 fissure level enemies instead of 21 level enemies there is no way to know until you get into a game. It really sucks if we are being relied on checking for cm-long lines on the screen to determine if we are in steel path or not every single time we have to enter a mission even fissures! This issue also indicates there are some problems with how it is also being tracked behind-the-scenes with it not being clear as it continually grows.

The issues will just continue to grow and grow if you constantly force it instead of trying to solve the underlying issues and its original barebones implementation first.

Ty for the update! I've been peeking at some of the recent forum posts, and godspeed to those dealing with the way people just dump their anger online over an inconvenience, miscommunication, problems that require more steps to complete or that were unexpected, etc.

Real breakdown in communication here, this could have, and should have been properly communicated in game as well as the forums. I spent two nights running each mode, only for it to unlock the next day when I logged in.

I'm just annoyed about having to wait a month to get the only actual incarnon I still wanted out of the bunch.

I get the whole "oops we never actually tracked if the missions were done" thing, but surely there's some other inventory-based method that could be used to check? Say, if the player has any pathos clamps, or an incarnon adapter?

Such a kerfuffle in order to fix Steel Path Trophy, yet still no Steel Path Trophy.

I've verified that the Steel Path trophy will complete correctly now for an account that logs completion for all the nodes.  In your particular case, you have not done The Lone Story on Steel Path.

No, this is mistaken. It has always been that once new missions are added, all special modes will be locked (nightmare, arbitration, sp) until normal is completed. Arbitration is one people tend to forget but if you check threads around updates that add new areas or new missions to existing areas, a lot of people cry "why is this happening, it's never been like this?" It always has tho. Ppl forget quickly

Please explain why I do not have to do any normal Duviri to access SP Duviri despite you saying I have to?

Completing The Duviri Paradox Quest autocompletes the Duviri Experience node in the backend.

You can still pull people into steel path orowyrm runs when they dont have steel path unlocked. If they try to queue for it themselves they get the error message saying to unlock steel path., Is this working as intended?

This actually may be. I've taxi'ed (against my own advisement) a new player to Saturn sp exterminate bc he was tired of weak enemies and wanted a challenge. He hadn't unlocked Saturn on star chart yet, and couldn't queue the mission himself, but I had no trouble taxi'ing.

Nah, that's outdated information about arbitrations.

Added a mechanism which permanently unlocks Arbitration missions one you have completed all current mission nodes. Even if we add new mission nodes in the future, you will not lose access to Arbitrations.
